Halloween Visit to the Nursing Home

We went today for our weekly visit to the nursing home with my friend Jessica and her daughter Reese. But today wasn't like every other visit--The girls dressed up in their Halloween costumes to bring the residents a little extra excitement! In the video below, you will see Katelyn and Reese dancing up a storm as part of their entertainment! Just in case you can't tell, Reese is dressed up as Minnie Mouse, and Katelyn is a Baylor cheerleader!

Texas/OU game

We had our sweet friends the Scotts over to watch the Texas/OU football game, and even in all of the excitement of the game, we managed to get some cute pictures of Katelyn and her best buddy Brodie! Enjoy!

A Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

My sister Jessica and her husband Evan came up to visit from Austin recently, and we took a trip to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch! It was such a fun time! We miss you already Aunt Jessie and Uncle Evan!

Texas State Fair!

We went to the Texas State Fair last Thursday with my sister and her friend! It was tons 'o fun! Not only was it the day before Texas/OU weekend, but it was also Senior Citizens Day (seniors pay a discounted price)! For those of you who know how much I love elderly people, I really enjoyed this added bonus! Dave, my sister and her friend all took the afternoon off so we could enjoy it while it wasn't so crowded. One of the best parts of the fair was that we didn't have to pay for parking or our tickets!! Because Brittany's friend works for GM (a big sponsor of the fair), he had free passes. Did I mention that as we were pulling into our parking place I realized that we had forgotten Katelyn's stroller?? She was such a champion walker and piggyback rider! While at the fair, we watched a dog show, walked through a petting zoo, and a took a tour of a kid-friendly farming exhibit! We went to a car show, and although we originally went for Dave to see the cars, Katelyn loved getting in and out of them and pretending she was "driving." It was so cute! We ate funnel cakes and corn dogs, and Katelyn especially loved looking at the ferris wheel from wherever we happened to be on the fairgrounds.

A Visit with Michael

Our friend Michael recently came to visit us from SMU. We all went to church together that evening and then came back and had Chipotle burritos for dinner! This was a significant "trip" for Michael because he just recently got his driver's license! We feel honored that he would brave the sea of crazy Dallas drivers between SMU and Lewisville to see us! Fun with Mamaw and Peepaw!

My parents came to stay the weekend Oct 2-4, and Dave and I got to have another night away! This time we went to the Westin in Frisco. You may be wondering why we went to Frisco. Three words. The Cheesecake Factory. It was so good! We really enjoyed our "staycation" and the time with my parents.
