We just had a wonderful visit with Dave's mom this past weekend! Dave and I were originally supposed to travel to China this week for a business conference with LDi, but the conference was canceled. So....since we had already asked our parents if they could each take half a week off to watch Katelyn while we were gone, we decided it would still be fun to have them come up and visit during their respective times! Dave's mom came this past weekend (Fri-Tues), and my parents are coming this weekend (Fri-Sun). Now we definitely wouldn't want them to come all the way up here and not have the promised experience of getting to keep their granddaughter for the night, so Dave and I took one for the team, got on priceline.com, and booked a hotel in the DFW area for a kid-free, one-night getaway! This past weekend was awesome! Eating out, staying up late, watching a movie on the hotel's
sweet flat screen tv, sleeping in, relaxing in the jacuzzi, working out at the fitness center, going to the mall... it was so fun! It's amazing how much 24 hours away can refresh a couple!
We also took Granny out for a belated birthday dinner while she was here (her birthday was Sept. 9). She wanted to go to one of the Japanese restaurants where they cook the food on a grill in the middle of your table (aka: Japanese hibachi steakhouse). We found one right down the street from us and headed over there! The food was delicious and the service was amazing! We all (including Katelyn!) enjoyed our first hibachi steakhouse experience! We love you Granny, we enjoyed your visit, and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
