Splish Splash!

Katelyn and I went with my friend Jill and her son Brodie to a fun (free!) splash park last week! Katelyn was so much fun to watch in the water! She had a blast! This is definitely an activity we will be repeating this summer!

5 Years of Wedded Bliss!

On May 17, we celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary! The day started off with chocolate chip banana pancakes, one of Dave's favorites that I make. While he was getting the car washed, I whipped up another one of his favorites...a homeade carrot cake! Aunt Brenner babysat Katelyn that evening, and Dave surprised me by taking me to eat at this Chinese restaurant we have been wanting to try ever since we returned from China (almost a year ago)! It was delicious! Then we took a page from my parents book and went to the grocery store to pick out anniversary cards for each other. The way this works is....you don't actually buy the cards...you just hold up 2 or 3 and say, "This is a card I would get you!" It was so fun! Then we rented a movie, and before heading home, we stopped at Starbucks for a fun drink! It was so nice spending some SWEET quality time together!

Katelyn's First Great-Granny-A-Thon!

I defined in an earlier post what a "Granny-A-Thon" is...when both of your granny's visit you in the same weekend! Well, while Dave was on business in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago, Katelyn, Brittany (my youngest sister), and I went on a road trip to Houston and Beaumont to see our grandparents (Katelyn's great grandparents)...and so we named it the "Great-Granny-A-Thon!" It was so much fun! Katelyn loved seeing them and so did we! Enjoy the pictures and a video (it has sound!) from our trip!

Go Rangers!

We went with our home group (from church) on Sunday to see the Rangers play the Astros in Arlington, and the Rangers only lost by 1 in the last inning of the game! Katelyn did great, and we had a really fun time!

Mother's Day!

We had such a fun Mother's Day! We drove to Waco on Saturday morning to share Mother's Day weekend with Dave's mom. On Saturday night, we picked up chicken and sweet tea from my favorite restaurant in Waco, Bush's Chicken! On Sunday morning, Katelyn and Dave gave me a sweet card, a warm glazed donut, and some Ghiradelli chocolate! That afternoon Dave's mom chose Jason's Deli for lunch! As if eating at Jason's Deli wasn't great enough, their frozen yogurt machine was broken, and they were serving REAL ice cream!!! I am so thankful for the gift of motherhood, for my mom, for Dave's mom, and for the many "mothers" in our lives.

Prayers for China

Please pray for the people in China who have lost loved ones in the earthquake...that they would sense the Lord's comforting presence during this time. LDi does have an international school in the city that was hit, but by the Lord's mercy everyone was ok. They had to evacuate the school and did feel many of the tremors and aftershocks, but they are all ok and now have an incredible opportunity to bring Hope to the hurting and desperate people around them. If you would like to give through LDi to the relief effort (to focus on long-term rehabilitation of affected areas), you can send a check (payable to LDi) to the US headquarters at:
